We never stop pushing. This is what it takes to fight on the front line and thanks to the continuous development of HRC and its riders (from Tim Gajser, driving our MXGP to the brothers Jett and Hunter Lawrence, involved in both AMA Supercross and Pro Motocross ) now the CRF450R is easier to ride, faster and longer.
The rigidity of the frame allows the suspension to work more efficiently. To make the whole thing more rigid, the junction between the down tube and the cradle has a wall thickness of 6 mm; similarly, the upper shock mount also has a wall thickness of 6 mm. The steel head supports combined with the interventions carried out on the frame result in improved traction on the front tyre.
The Showa rear shock absorber features a 56 N/mm spring. The hydraulic calibration increases the response making driving easier overall and above all incredible control in jumps without giving the rider a feeling of rigidity. The Showa 49mm USD spring fork remains a benchmark for motocross riders.
With a higher-performance chassis when exiting corners, the engine has been developed with a large increase in torque at low revs and more fluidity in power delivery at the same revs. The intake ducts, airbox manifold, throttle body, factory-spec camshaft and perfectly calibrated ECU complete the winning package of the 2024 CRF 450R.
The HSTC (Honda Selectable Torque Control) traction control offers 3 riding modes, plus OFF (off) for maximum traction on the rear wheel. The HRC launch control system offers 3 starting options while the engine mode selection button (EMSB) has 3 maps to adjust power delivery to each circumstance.
The silencer is made of heat-treated aluminum to better resist accidental impacts frequent in motocross, without increasing weight. The compact and lightweight superstructures are very easy to remove for routine maintenance.
This is a small part of what makes the CRF450R the benchmark bike. This is where HRC’s victories come to life. The CRF450R redefines l’incredibile.
